Our ancient Vines Centenarias vineyards are located in the Serranía de Francia, in Salamanca, 750 meters above sea level, in Miranda del Castañar and in Valtiendas, Segovia, on a Páramo at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level.
In Sierra de Salamanca are our Rufete, Calabrés, Aragonés and Rufete Blanco vines, while in Valtiendas are those of Garnacha and Tinta del País.
Living Soil
The soils of the Sierra are characterized by their degree of acidity, which gives our wines a unique and particular identity. Throughout the entire production area we find a great geological and edaphic diversity of soils, such as sandy soils that owe their origin to granitic rock, or clay soils from slate. In short, the vines Planted in each area, they are immersed in the nuances that each terrain provides them, maintaining the essence of each terroir.
Climate
The Sierra de Francia has a humid Mediterranean climate. With relatively short and not very cold winters. Summers are usually long, hot and dry, but with some cold nights. In both autumn and spring there is abundant rainfall, thus balancing the low absorption capacity of the soils.
This climate helps the correct ripening of our grapes, providing good acidity and allowing the development of characteristic aromas of the varieties from our area.
