The super burgundy 2015 Rvfián Rfetve reminds me a lot of Pinot Noir. It is made with Rufete grapes from two plots in Miranda del Castañar, in the Sierra de Salamanca region; There are different soils here, two thirds of the grapes are planted on granite sands and the rest on slate. This has matured in barrels for nine months, but does not have any type of wood aroma. Fermentation ended in barrels like a white wine, without skins. The wine has no added sulfur, but the nose is focused and clean, with lots of red berry fruit but also some earthiness, like beet. In the mouth it has electric acidity, citrus with flavors of pomegranate and blood orange, tasty and long. Quite an impressive 1400 bottles produced, it was bottled in September 2016.
